ASSETS

OVERVIEW

ASSETS is a 501(c)(3) and a community development financial institution (CDFI) that is transforming communities through entrepreneurship. ASSETS provides programming and services to Women and Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) entrepreneurs in a safe and welcoming space to learn, collaborate, and grow together. As a CDFI, our primary function is to provide equitable access to capital by expanding economic opportunity for underserved people. Historically, women and BIPOC entrepreneurs have faced barriers to accessing social and financial capital. At ASSETS we work to level the playing field by providing educational opportunities and innovative solutions.

SMALL DOLLAR LOAN

This unique product is a 0% interest loan from $500-$2,500 and provides access to small personal loans intended for business purposes, while helping entrepreneurs establish or improve credit history. No credit score minimum requirement. 

WOMEN'S BUSINESS CENTER AT ASSETS

 

[startup to 2+ years, rolling admission, fee]

ASSETS is proud to partner with U.S. Small Business Administration to host the Women’s Business Center at ASSETS. As a part of the nationwide network of Women’s Business Centers, the Women’s Business Center at ASSETS strives to empower women (and all!) entrepreneurs by providing access to information, contacts, contracts, and capital.

SMALL BUSINESS LOAN

The Small Business Loan is $2,500-$10K at 8.5% interest. It provides access to capital to meet your business needs. One-on-one credit counseling sessions are available to help establish and improve credit history. No minimum credit score requirement. 

IDEA INCUBATOR

 

[idea to startup (0-2 years), 1-2 times a year admission, scholarship available]

This unique program offers an interactive way for a group of aspiring entrepreneurs to learn and work through the early stages of the business planning process, while creating the types of positive relationships and networking essential for small business owners. Upon completion, participants will leave with a clear value proposition, minimum viable product (MVP), startup financials, an understanding of community impact, and a formal pitch presentation.
