Barrio Alegría is a community transformation organization located in Reading that utilizes the arts as a platform for community engagement and for the development of social and multicultural awareness. Barrio Alegria provides most of their services in Spanish, for the Spanish speaking community, and focuses on the creative arts. Barrio’s work happens in three ways: Community Development efforts to improve employment skills and the financial standings of community members: Faro Community Grants for nonprofits serving and benefiting the City of Reading; and, Peacekeeping.
